The Other Dream Team

The legends of the sports have rarely had it easy in their road towards top tier of success and fame. Some have battled career threatening injuries, some have grappled with innumerable doubts on whether they have it in themselves to be counted when the big occasion arrives and some have burned the torch of their lives from both ends to trample the goliaths of their sport. The Lithuanian basketball team of the 1992 belongs to the third category. Their land was reeling under the everywhere entrenched Soviet rule. Despite the unfavorable environment, this Lithuanian basketball team made their nation proud by lifting the ultimate trophy at the Barcelona Olympics and their levitation achievement raised the hope for independence.
